Habit of Mind 11: Creating, Imagining and Innovating.

Vulnerability is the birthplace of innovation, creativity and change.

Brené Brown

This is all about problem solving. Intelligent people utilize their creative freedom to solve problems. They do this by using multiple perspectives and approaching the situation from different angles. A good way to do this is to imagine yourself in different positions. Even working backwards and putting themselves in the perspective of the object, pretending they are the object itself.

The key is to look at work differently. Focus on the path it takes to get somewhere and not the end results of the path. For example, creative and innovative thinkers are intrinsically motivated. They care more about the task and the work put in to the project then the external or end product.

Be open to critique and criticism. Make your work available for those around you to see and provide feedback. Seek that feedback and allow yourself to refine your technique based on those critiques.

Work is not a competition, all work is better with a team. Constantly work to perfect and improve your craft.

Creative and explored minds are the most successful.
